Audio Evolution 4.0 68k demo - Release notes
--------------------------------------------

As Audio Evolution 4 will only be released for PPC processors under
OS4, only a limited demo exists for OS3/68k for promotional purposes.
This document describes the limitations of this 68k demo:

- This demo is limited to 3 (stereo) tracks and 60 seconds of playback
or recording time. Saving of a project is also not possible.

- Performance: Hard disk recording places a high demand on processor
power and hard disk performance. Especially using plug-ins for
real-time effects requires a lot of processor power. Therefore, the
use of real-time effects will be very limited in this 68k demo version.

- Only plug-ins that are delivered with this demo will run. The plug-ins
from our web site can not be used with the 68k demo version.

- There are 2 manuals delivered with AE4, a PDF version and a HTML version.
The PDF version is the most up-to-date. The HTML version is used for
online help currently, but this will most likely be removed from
the final release in favour of using AmiPDF through ARexx as the online
  manual.

- In order to use the HTML online help, you need to install an HTML
datatype. You can use the datatype included in this archive. Go to
the directory HTML-DT and double-click the installation icon.

- The workbench icons in the 68k demo version are not the icons that
are used in the OS4 version due to legal restrictions.

- When first starting AE, please select a HiFi 16-bit stereo++ realtime mode
(when available) and an 8-bit screenmode. You can save these settings with
"Save Preferences" in the "File" menu.

- The OS4 version has an improved palette/color system to let it work
together with the new OS4 'look'. This will require a 16 or 24-bit
screenmode. It will also allow running AE4 on the Workbench screen.
If you are an OS4 beta tester, please contact us to get this
  improved version.

- Users with Picasso96 might have color problems when performing range
editing due to an unsupported function. The OS4 version of AE4 will
  resolve this issue.
